Ballroom Wave & Dome Ceiling — Hotel, Accra
An international hotel’s ballroom called for a ceiling that could carry the room visually at full height while managing sound at banquet volume. The design combined a central dome with wave profiles running toward the perimeter — geometry that only works if the framing holds its curvature exactly.
Each curved section was set out from templates, framed to hold the double curvature, and boarded with an acoustic build-up specified for the room’s event load. Lighting and ventilation penetrations were coordinated on the drawings before a single frame went up. The programme was sequenced around the hotel’s confirmed events calendar, and the finished ceiling was accepted in writing against the specification.
